Job Title 1: Night Front Desk, Laundry
Job Description: Employee will work the night front desk position 3-5 nights a week. Excellent English skills are required. Employee will be doing late night guest check-ins, front desk clerical duties, check and maintain building security and night laundry. Employee will sort sheets, towels and learn operation of large commercial washers and dryers. Employee will also load and unload laundry, fold clean linens, stock carts and stock storerooms. Employee must be comfortable working alone and late night hours. Employee must also be willing to work in housekeeping and laundry other days of the week when night shift allows. Special projects may also be assigned. Various other job duties as assigned.

Job Title 2: Housekeeper/Laundry
Job Description: Employee will clean guest rooms, bathrooms, lobby, halls, stairs, sundecks, spa, pool areas, etc. throughout the hotel. Employee will vacuum, dust, and make beds. Employee will clean bathtubs, sinks, floors, toilets, mirrors, windows, straighten furniture, remove trash and recyclables. Employee will sort sheets, towels and learn operation of large commercial washers and dryers. Employee will also load and unload laundry, fold clean linens, stock carts and stock storerooms. Special projects may also be assigned. Various other job duties as assigned.

Pay Rate: Housekeeping is paid by the room. This method encourages and rewards fast learners and productive workers. If you meet our STANDARD of 30 minutes/room (2 rooms/hour), you can earn $7/hour plus $1 bonus and $100 travel bonus if stay until end of job.
Additional info: Staff are prepared to meet students at the local bus stop in Grand Marais, providing the students read and use the "Travel Planner" employer makes available on their website: www.gmhotel.net The "Travel Planner" should be printed out by the students to use as they make their journey to their employer. Students must e-mail or phone our toll free number to inform employer of their arrival date so employer can have a staff person pick them up on the correct day. Details and answers to many questions are provided in employer's "Travel Assistance". Season End Commitment Bonus - is paid at the end of the season, on all hours worked, and is paid based on: 1. If student works through the end commitment date in their acceptance correspondence with employer or the dates given on their agreement. 2. Students must tell the bus driver and ticket agent in Duluth that they want to go all the way to the airport.

HOUSING:
Housing Information: Students do NOT need to reserve housing before arrival. Housing cost is deducted from paycheck. Deposit is deducted from first paycheck.

Housing features: Apartment shared between 2-4 people per bedroom. Housing and Work Space are all NON-SMOKING. Kitchen facilities, living room, TV, phones with voicemail are all provided. Most students live on-site. A few students might have a few blocks to walk or bike to work. The furthest is 3/4 mile from work. Free guest laundry use. Students must buy their own soap.
