POSITION OPPORTUNITY INFORMATION

Wisconsin Dells proclaims itself the "Waterpark Capital of the World", and other attractions in the Dells include the Boat Tours, mini golf, go-kart tracks, water sports, horseback riding, the Ho-Chunk Casino and many other places of interest. Most attractions are located on the Strip, otherwise known as the Wisconsin Dells Parkway.

Lifeguard - EMPLOYER ON JOB FAIR - September 13th 2010

Job Description

A lifeguard is responsible for monitoring activities at an indoor water park to prevent accidents and provide assistance to swimmers.  You will be required to maintain order in the water area, rescue swimmers in danger, and administer first aid if required. 
Additionally, you must inspect the pool for cleanliness, and clean the pool and pool area on a daily basis.

Start Date

  • December 3rd - 5th, 2010
  • December 10th - 12th 2010
  • December 17th - 20th 2010
    These are the dates you must START to work, not the date you arrive in Wisconsin. Preferred arrival days: Tuesday - Thursday (arrive BEFORE Friday orientation)

End Date

  • March 12 - march 15th, 2011 NO earlier departure

English Requirement

Conversational English is required for this job.  If you arrive to your employer and you do not have conversational English, you will not be offered this position.

Required Job Training

In order to work as a lifeguard, you will be required to complete a lifeguard training course taught by a lifeguard instructor.
In order to complete training, you must be able to swim 300 yards, retrieve a 10-pound brick from 8+ feet under water and tread water for two minutes using only your legs.
Please note that you will be tested on these skills in your home country.

Salary

$7,75 per hour

Overtime

$11,60 per hour
Overtime is determined by the needs of the employer and the work ethic of the employee.  Overtime should not be expected.

32 hours per week

Training Orientation
Orientation is 4 hours and is paid.
The lifeguard certification class is a 3 part class covering life saving techniques, written, verbal and swimming tests. Hours spent in certification class are UNPAID.

Expected Schedule

Employees will work different shifts.  Many shifts will be 8 hours.  Shifts and schedules will change weekly during the course of the program.

Dress Code

The employer will supply a uniform.  The cost of the uniform will be deducted from your paycheck.

You will receive your paycheck either in person, direct deposit, or a payroll Visa debit card.

Final Paycheck

Your final paycheck will be sent to your home address in your home country or placed on your debit card.   Your W2 form will be mailed to your home address in your home country.

Weather

In the spring, temperatures average 45 degrees Fahrenheit.  In summer the average temperature is 73 degrees, although temperatures can reach into the 90’s or even 100.  In the fall, the temperature cools to about 50 degrees.  Winter temperatures hover around the 20 degree mark, sometimes dropping below zero, with annual snowfall averaging 30 inches.  Inside the waterpark, it’s always a balmy 85 degrees Fahrenheit.
