The individual will work as a team member to serve fresh, hot, food to customers. The job requires students to take orders from customers, operate the cash registers, clean the store, prepare food and assemble orders quickly. Various other duties as assigned. This is a high-energy job.

HOUSING
Housing Information: There is housing within walking distance (less than a mile) from the company. The housing is one Duplex with 3 bedrooms and another House with 4 bedrooms (there will be bunk beds in the rooms). Both are fully furnished, have a washer/dryer, a full kitchen, living room, and cable. Most likely there will be 3 people per bedroom.
Housing costs: $85 per week
Additional costs: $200 security deposit, due upon arrival. This deposit is refundable in part or in full after final inspection of housing is complete after participant departure. Host company may retain a portion of the deposit if there is any damage to the housing property.

The town is dressed up in its finest Victorian splendor so visitors can get a glimpse of a Dickensian Christmas - Cape May style. Cape May also offers plenty of holiday shopping. Other winter activities include restaurants, cinemas, bowling and nightlife!

Things to Do: Just a few hours from Manhattan's skyscrapers lies one of the best-preserved retreats in the country, Cape May. Famed as the oldest seashore resort in the United States, this southernmost town in New Jersey is just as rich in historical heritage as it is in natural beauty. The seaside village, part of 30-mile-long peninsula boasting more than 100 miles of coastline, retains its original Victorian style, prompting its designation as a National Historic Landmark. Cape May is also a haven for naturalists who come to witness the annual migration of birds, butterflies, and whales to its shores. You will be living and working in a smaller resort town. There are shopping malls, groceries and other conveniences located in the area where you will be living. Public transportation is moderately accessible. You are encouraged to research your living area prior to arrival to discover the special character it may hold. You can go to New York City or Atlantic City, NJ in a short bus trip, train ride or car trip to go to sporting events, museums, night clubs, movies, restaurants, and other exciting city events.
What to Wear: In the summer months be prepared for warm weather and don't forget your swim suit! Please be prepared for colder weather in the winter. Dressing in layers is reccomended.

Recommended Airport: JFK in New York CIty.
Travel Instructions: When you arrive at John F Kennedy (JFK) Airport you need to take a bus from the airport into New York City. You should take Supershuttle (located near the baggage claim) and go to a hostel for the night. It is best to travel to the employer in the morning and you must arrive at the host company between the hours of 8:00 AM and 9:00 PM. To travel to the employer in North Cape May go the New Jersey Transit at Port Authority, which is located at 42nd Street and 8th Avenue in New York City (information below). From the Port Authority Station you'll travel to Atlantic City, NJ, which will take 3 hours and it will cost around $25 dollars. Next, once you arrive in Atlantic City, NJ you'll take a bus through the New Jersey Transit to North Cape May New Jersey, which is about an hour. Once you arrive in North Cape May you can walk directly to the McDonald's. Once you arrive please contact the McDonald's for specific directions to the location.
